There are two different methods of collecting data in the Eat Out Round About App. The first is data entered by the user, and the second is data that is automatically obtained public information made available by visiting our website and/or downloading our mobile app.

Users must be registered users to access the Eat Out Round About Mobile App.

Automatically collected data

  • (1) Internet Protocol (IP) Address – this is a number identifier associated with your computer/device. We use this to verify your host or network interface and location by country origin only.
  • (2) Third-Party Advertisers/Analytics – Please refer to our third-party privacy policies listed below to see what information they collect.

Requested information at time of registration sign up for Eat Out Round About users:

  • (1) First Name and Last Name (required)
  • (2) Mobile phone number (required) that the user uses to log into the Eat Out Round About Mobile App.
  • (3) Postcode (required): This is the postcode used to identify the local economy where the user lives to provide relevant content and local economy impact information.
  • (4) Email so that the user can be updated with important updates, requested emails and has an additional security check in the event of voucher queries.
  • (5) A signup code may have been issued.  This is used to track any purchases and attribute commissions and bites to introducers to the app.


Eat Out Round About operates with collecting as little personal information as possible about you with the ability to share voluntary information that may be helpful to build your circles. Even though we only collect limited personal information this information is kept behind firewall and SSL encryption. With this safety infrastructure in place, we still follow data security practices to make sure this data is secure.

Guidelines for Administration and IT teams

  • Each user/employee with access is background checked and signs a confidentiality agreement before obtaining their required access.
  • Each user shall be identified by a unique user ID so that individuals can be held accountable for their actions.
  • The use of shared identities is permitted only where they are suitable, such as training accounts or service accounts.
  • Each user shall read this app user policy and agree to a statement that they understand the conditions of access.
  • Records of user access may be used to provide evidence for security incident investigations.
  • Access shall be granted based on the principle of least privilege, which means that each program and user will be granted the fewest privileges necessary to complete their tasks.

Network Access

  • All employees and contractors shall be given network access in accordance with business access control procedures and the least-privilege principle.
  • Segregation of networks shall be implemented as recommended by the company’s network security research. Network administrators shall group together information services, users and information systems as appropriate

User Responsibilities

a. All users log out whenever they leave their app to reduce the risk of unauthorised access.

b. All users must keep their app and profile clear of any sensitive or confidential information.

Application and Information Access

  • All company staff and contractors shall be granted access to the data and applications required for their job roles
  • All company staff and contractors shall access sensitive data and systems only if there is a business need to do so and they have approval from higher management.
  • Sensitive systems shall be physically or logically isolated in order to restrict access to authorized personnel only.

Access to Confidential, Restricted information

  • Access to data classified as ‘Confidential’ or ‘Restricted’ shall be limited to authorised persons whose job responsibilities require it, as determined by the Data Security Policy or higher management.
  • The responsibility to implement access restrictions lies with the IT Security department.


Once the initial sign up process is completed by the Eat Out Round About user, the user is granted access to their Eat Out Round About account with access to free features. Where an Eat Out Round About account is created, the account admin may grant a user additional permissions to access app features such as employees at a venue, partners or employees of a circle. Eat Out Round About Accounts are setup by request at or by requesting to become a venue. The Account admin has the ability to add and remove users from their account according to the level and access privileges they would like each user to have as noted below.

During the registration process, we will collect and store certain information from you. As described in this Privacy Policy, we only directly collect personal information submitted by the user and is not shared publicly or with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy.


There are FIVE account types on Eat Out Round About App. Depending on how you use the app, each account type has specific limitations to access within the app. Below are the descriptions of each account type.


This is a user who downloads the app and registers with their mobile phone number. Eat Out Round About users will be allowed to find venues, book tables, send and accept friend requests, favourite venues, chat, claim vouchers, redeem vouchers, write venue reviews. When users try to access the app without registration, they will be prompted to register.  Each user can manage their privacy settings.

Venue Account Admin

Account Admins that are venues can create venues, manage account details, add venue admins and view self-billing invoices.  They also have access to all the venue admin and venue staff features.

Venue Admin

Venue Admins can manage venue admins and staff users, manage venue details, see all voucher redemptions by all staff.

Venue Staff

Venue staff can redeem vouchers and see the voucher redemptions they have redeemed.

Circle Admin

Circle Admins are those users that purchase vouchers as a business account via the website.  They have the ability to create and edit voucher campaigns and vouchers and issue them to users. They can see the first name and last name of users claiming vouchers to safeguard against fraudulent claims.


Eat Out Round About users will be able to participate in the following activities depending on their Account Profile Type.

7. Packages,  Vouchers and Digital Greeting Cards

There are two types of users that purchase from Eat Out Round About.  Users can purchase digital greeting cards and vouchers directly via the app.  Businesses and organisations (Circle Accounts) can purchase packages and vouchers to issue in bulk via the website. The package subscriptions are either monthly or annually and auto-renewed based on the schedule selected. Subscriptions are managed by the Account Admin user.

Eat Out Round About Subscriptions – grant access to a range of vouchers based on the subscription selected, plus a number of additional app features.

This is available to both IOS and Android users.


User-Generated Content

When a User engages in some of our user-generated activities, including Profile Bio, Chat, Ratings and Reviews and claiming vouchers, they may share information that could be considered personally identifiable information (PII). While there is no foolproof system to control PII, Eat Out Round About are monitoring the app and website 24/7 and are able to address and delete content immediately should they be determined to contain user PII. However, you should be aware that any PII user provide may be read, collected, or used by other members who access them. The user-generated features within the Eat Out Round About App are: chat, comments, personal bio and name.

Additional Information Shared by Users

Invite to connect to my cirlce : Eat Out Round About’s “Invite to My Circle” program allows a Eat Out Round About Member to send an sms text to friends who are not Eat Out Round About Members to tell them about the Eat Out Round About App. We collect a friend’s mobile number and a user’s friend’s name for the sole purpose of sending this sms text. The mobile numbers are not viewable on the app by members and are not stored in any personally identifiable manner. Users who have not registered do not have access to the “Invite to My Circle” feature.

General Collection of Non-Personal Information

We collect information through technology to make our mobile app more interesting and useful to you and for various purposes related to our business. For instance, when you come to our app, we collect your IP address. An IP address is associated with the access point through which you access the Internet, and it is typically controlled by your Internet Service Provider (ISP). Standing alone, your IP address is not personally identifiable information. We may use IP addresses to collect information regarding the frequency with and geographic location from which our guests visit various parts of our mobile app.


Our mobile app collects information through a variety of technical methods, including but not necessarily limited to cookies. Cookies are pieces of information that a mobile app sends to your computer while you are viewing the website. We use cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our app and to track and target the interests of our users to enhance the experience on our app. We also may use technical methods to analyse the traffic patterns on our app, such as the frequency with which our users visit various parts of our app.

Eat Out Round About includes advertising throughout the app by local businesses. All advertisements are reviewed by staff to confirm they are appropriate for Eat Out Round About users.

Gigs Ads are ads sold directly to approved advertisers. These approved advertisers are provided anonymous information when their campaign is complete. These approved third parties will receive a 4-point data analysis of their advertising campaign’s performance in the Eat Out Round About App. This 4-point data analysis includes the number of views a campaign received, location and where relevant, job function of the users who viewed the campaign. All data is anonymous and not tied to any specific user or account.

At any time, users can access the information collected on them in my profile on the app and update their privacy settings.  With an Eat Out Round About Admin account, users can update their company information on the website and venues can update their venue and account information directly in the app. Account Admins can see activity relating to voucher redemptions and users redeeming vouchers on the app.


To protect your privacy and security, we will take reasonable steps to help verify your identity before granting you access to the personal information that we collect and maintain about you.


We will retain your or your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. We will retain and use the information as necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreement. Your may receive push notifications relating to activities on the Eat Out Round About App on your mobile device. Push Notifications may be deactivated at any time by changing the notification settings in your profile pick ‘n’ mix privacy settings within the Eat Out Round About app.
